Incorporated and licensed in 2020 in the State of Georgia, Osprey Re was formed as an extension of the successful collateralized reinsurance model developed and applied in Corinthian Re and to leverage strong commercial reputation, investor support and opportunities within the evolving casualty reinsurance space.
Osprey Re’s position as a domestic reinsurer facilitates greater access as a specialty reinsurer to those programs and counterparties who prefer to avoid offshore friction, while also expanding the scope of business assumed to a broader multi-peril mix.
The emphasis remains on high frequency, low severity lines of business. Osprey Re, like other Corinthian companies, does not have an appetite for uncapped catastrophic risk.
